Interior Design Trends to Consider for Your Home Remodel

I think we can all agree that the start of this new decade has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride and what the months ahead will bring is anyone’s guess. One thing is for sure, though: Interior design trends are constantly changing. Here we give you some ideas of trends that you can consider for remodeling your house.

1. Three-tone kitchens.

Two-tone kitchen cabinets — meaning the upper cabinets are one color and the lower cabinets another color has been a big hit over the past few years. Now the 3 tone kitchen is making its well-deserved rounds.

In a three-tone kitchen, one more color or material is introduced to create an asymmetry in the palette that helps define zones or functions and keeps the eye moving explains Houzz

The result is an amazing, beautiful layered effect — and getting it done, from a contractor and homeowner perspective is easier than you think.

2. Tiled bathtub aprons.

Tubs are making a big comeback after vanishing from master bathrooms. They have become an architectural feature whether or not you like to bath. Replacing an entire bath unit can become a big expense. Many designers now suggest rather covering your bathtub apron with tiles, if you would like to incorporate some different materials consider covering the apron with wood panels. Tile and wood is a great budget-friendly material to add some design to your current bathroom with minimal investment.

3. Breezy, bright, calming living rooms.

Who doesn’t want a home that’s full of natural light in every corner all day? A bright living room doesn’t mean the walls have to be starched white. A big trend for 2020 is the need to design around a sense of calm and wellness. In times like these, a soothing and relaxed living room is just what you need. Use soft colors, casual fabrics, minimal decor and allow for a lot of sunshine to stream in. With a living room like this who would not want to stay home.

4. Give your dining room personality.

Most families have their meals in casual spots. Create a dining room where the family would want to get together to socialize and eat. Dining rooms are also the room to host special occasions. Create your dining rooms personality through incorporating color, pattern, lighting and more that might not fit within the style found elsewhere in the home

5. Bright colors in the laundry room.

If you have to do laundry you might as well do it in a well-designed area. Designers have long promoted making laundry rooms enjoyable spaces to be in. But lately, designers and homeowners are taking it just one step further by incorporating bright vibrant colors, patterns, and features.
